One of my dogs has severe food allergies but has done wonderfully on Canidae Grain Free and Taste of the Wild formulas. Both of them have formulas without chicken such as Canidae’s Grain free Salmon and TOTW’s bison/venison, salmon and roasted fowl protein sources. You may not need the grain free formula but my dog has allergies to corn.

It’s amazing how comfortable my Lab is and he no longer chews his hair out. My personal favorite based on the reduction of smelly gas is Canidae but one of my dogs prefers the taste of the TOTW Wetlands. Maybe it’s because he is a Brittany and loves upland game?

Neither of these are cheap foods but they are less expensive than some of the other holistic formulas. I haven’t found any cheaper food that will do the trick. I can get TOTW for about $55 for a 30 lb bag and Canidae Grain-Free for about $65.
