I have been researching this for a while and can’t seem to find any consistent information. I have read allot online that commercial pet foods are really unhealthy. Is this true or is it just a way for people to sell their alternative product?
At the moment I am thinking of feeding my dog Burns Mini Bites as I have heard that this is the best commercial dry dog food. I think I may mix this with a natural wet dog food as Burns has not got the highest meat content.
I do not have the time to prepare home made meals for my dog everyday but I’ve heard that this is the only healthy way to feed dogs. Is this true?
I am from the UK and I think some of the answers I have received are from US which is why I haven’t heard of all these great brands. Does anyone know where I could find them in the UK?

The second best would be BARF, which is raw meat, bones, fruits, veggies, eggs, etc. The fourth best type of food would be a good quality dry dog food of one of the following: Artemis Maximal Dog, Blue Wilderness Salmon, Go Natural Grain Free Endurance, Innova EVO, Innova EVO Herring and Salmon, Innova EVO Red Meat, Instinct Chicken Meal Formula, Instinct Duck Meal & Turkey Meal Formula, or Instinct Rabbit Meal Formula.

Answer by Stacey I currently feed a raw diet but if I had to return to kibble and these were my choices I would feed Blue Buffalo. My dogs previously ate Blue Buffalo and had no issues with it.
However, I will admit to not doing much kibble research lately.

I have been giving my dog Blue Seal Natural 26 dog food (dry) all his life (he’s 7) and that is what we have always given our dogs throughout the years. I was talking to someone in a food pet store and she said that Eukanuba wasn’t the best, in fact, it wasn’t that great at all and doesn’t sell well at their store. She said something called “wellness” is alot better. I always thought that Eukanuba was the best you can get? (I was just wondering because I was looking for can food for him just to hide his antibiotics in it so he will take them, and wet food usually gave him diarrhea so I wanted to go with something that was higher quality). I have no problem with the Blue Seal and will continue to use that for his everyday food.

Wellness Simple Solutions is a good food, also any other grain free food should work too.
