I currently feed a raw diet but if I had to return to kibble and these were my choices I would feed Blue Buffalo. My dogs previously ate Blue Buffalo and had no issues with it.

However, I will admit to not doing much kibble research lately.

I would check the ingredients. The last thing you want to feed your dog is by products. You need to make sure they are whole and the ingredients are readable. If you cant make it out what it says then its not good for your pet.

I am really confused about which food is best to feed my dog. My Weimaraner has bad skin allergies.

Hey, well it really depends on what kind of dog u have…my dog only likes eukanuba and my other dog only likes ol’ roy
I suggest Iams and eukanuba!
but thats a good kind of food too!

Question by kylee: What kind of dog food do you recommend? Nutro,Natural Choice, AvoDerm, Blue Buffalo?
I have a 15lb Shih Tzu and a 120lb Great Dane/ Catahoula mix. I am really just looking for an “adult” dog food not a breed specific. I have been researching the above ^ but wasn’t sure which one? Anybody have some insight? Thanks

I can only afford these foods, and i want to know which one is better for my Labrador who has dried skin and patches of fur on his legs missing . If their is a better brand that isnt to expensive around a dollor a pound or a little bit more than i will appreciate it THANK YOU.

sounds like your dog may have food allergies,.

i understand you are on a budget….i must recommend NATURAL BALANCE sweet potato and venison or duck and potato. our beagle had the same condition….we switched to these allergy free foods as well as adding 1 tsp of flax seed oil to her food and wow………………..no patches, hair is growing back, no dryness. its amazing. now, we feed orijen and innova evo and its like a brand new job.

both eukanuba and natural choice are kinda sucky because they have wheat, corn, soy…all things most dogs cant tolerate.

wellness also has allergy free food but because it is so new, it can only be ordered online.

also, petsmart does not carry any holistic, allergy free, prime foods. they have crap. both petco and petsupermarket actually carry natural balance, wellness, solid gold.

I think they are both about the same as far as quality and I wouldn’t personally recommend either one! Both were majorly recalled and had continued recalls. Also, I think they are substandard foods by comparison to healthier ones on the market. If I had to choose between those two only, I’d choose Science Diet.
Brands I’d recommend that weren’t recalled:
More median priced:
Nature’s Recipe- the game blends: Venison and Rice, Duck and Rice, Fish and Potato, Rabbit and Potato
or, a bit more in some places:
Canidae (if your dog has a sensitive stomach this may be a bit rich for him, but any new food intro’d has to be intro’d gradually to avoid digestive upset).
Orijen- no grains in this food, high in protein. Some breeds do better with lower protein food. This is a great brand.
Wellness- many varieties

Diamond is a good food. You really just need to read the ingredients label. You want the first ingredient to be Meat, not meat meal or meat by-products. There should be no corn in the food, and preferably no wheat or soy. Wheat is ok… not the best, but no where near as bad as corn. You want omega-3 fatty acids in there, and possibly some Vitamin E. Those are good for skin and coat.

I bought Nutro Natural Choice dog food for my dogs. I bought the small bites lamb and rice for skin and coat. I was just wondering if anyone has used this dog food, if so are you still using it and how do you like it. If you’re not still using it why did you stop?
My oldest dog has allergies, and I think it’s a food allergy and I was told to get the Nutro Natural Choice lamb and rice for her and it would help with her allergies, because it doesn’t have any by products or anything like that in it.

Question by Alessa: Is Beneful a better dog food than Nutro: Natural Choice?
I know Nutral: N.C. isn’t the best dog food out there, and since price can be a bit of a problem I know the better brands like “Taste of the Wild” and “Blue Buffalo” can be a bit expensive. I plan to switch dog foods as soon as I can for my 1 1/2 year old healthy female Pomeranian and I was wondering if Beneful is at least a better choice of food than Nutro is? If not, what is better than Nutro, but not too expensive?

beneful is pure GARBAGE

one of their fomulas doesnt even have “meat” in it.. the closest thing it had to meat was “animal fat”.
