Question by joe-dee: My dog has some major anxiety issues, what natural foods can I give her to calm her down?
I got her from the dog pound when she was a puppy(pit bull/terrier), she’s been with us for a year. She’s a spaz. She’ll walk around our coffee table 4-5 times, sit for 10 seconds then start that ritual again, maybe 3 or 4 times, until we put her to a halt. She behaves like a cat, when we bath her. After her bath, she threw up twice. She got herself all worked up.
She pee’s when she’s exaggerated happy.

Answer by Pam You don’t cure anxiety with food. She needs lots and lots more exercise than she is getting if she paces like that all the time. She is bored! Take her for a long walk for about an hour everyday, or better yet, run her. She should also get another 30-60 mins of exercise, like fetch, or another walk later on. She is a smart breed who does not know what else to do with all of her pent-up mental and physical energy.

Question by Kimberley: What is the best puppy food to feed my toy poodle cross papillon puppy? Are commercial dog foods bad?
I have been researching this for a while and can’t seem to find any consistent information. I have read allot online that commercial pet foods are really unhealthy. Is this true or is it just a way for people to sell their alternative product?
At the moment I am thinking of feeding my dog Burns Mini Bites as I have heard that this is the best commercial dry dog food. I think I may mix this with a natural wet dog food as Burns has not got the highest meat content.
I do not have the time to prepare home made meals for my dog everyday but I’ve heard that this is the only healthy way to feed dogs. Is this true?
I am from the UK and I think some of the answers I have received are from US which is why I haven’t heard of all these great brands. Does anyone know where I could find them in the UK?
Best answer:
Answer by Red Pony Not familiar with Burns Mini Bites – but I have done some research and can suggest the following commercial dog foods:
Wellness
Canidae
Merrick
Blue Buffalo
Innova
Orijen
Taste of the Wild
Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover’s Soul
Those are just a few and you’ll probably get other recommendations.
ADD: Just Google some of the dog food names and you should get plenty of hits. Most will ship if there’s no store near you that carries these brands. In the U.S. Petsmart and Petco carry these brands and many feed stores also carry some. Good luck!
ADD: And to Lindsay B. – There is absolutely a Toy Poodle. The Poodle comes in 3 sizes all recognized by AKC. Toy, Miniature and Standard. Check it out.
Question by Jason: Do you have cats too? Is store brand cat foods just as bad as the store brand dog foods?
I have a dog, and feed it natural foods, next weeks we are getting a cat from the shelter and am not sure what is good and healthy for her to eat?
Im sorry to ask here, but people are horrible in the cat category. Most answers are “shoot it.” and I need real help.
Thanks.
Sorry to disapoint you grendel, but considering I can speak and function just fine, I am not “retarded”.
And considering you are one of those morons who tells cat owners to, as I said, “shoot it” Im not about to take anything you say to heart.

Question by Unknown: What are some Veterinarian Recommended Dog Foods?
I have my dog on Nutro’s Natural Choice but she doesn’t like it so I need to switch up her dog food
Question by prettypanther_a: What are some good lamb and rice dog foods available?
Nutro Natural Choice recently changed their lamb and rice formula, which has my dog not feeling the greatest. Now, I am looking for a new Lamb and Rice food to feed him. I would like to stick with a food comparable in price to Nutro’s Lamb and Rice. All suggestions are welcome.
Thanks to everyone in advance.

Question by NoDayButToday: If these were the only 4 good dog foods in the world to feed, which would be the best choice? Why?
If these were the only 3 good dog foods left in the world to feed and you HAD to feed one of them, which would you feed?
Which is the best choice and why?
Taste of the Wild
Merrick
Blue Buffalo
Natural Balance
Just wondering which is the best quailty?
Best answer:
Answer by Stacey I currently feed a raw diet but if I had to return to kibble and these were my choices I would feed Blue Buffalo. My dogs previously ate Blue Buffalo and had no issues with it.
However, I will admit to not doing much kibble research lately.
