Natural Dog Foods Review

Question by Madison: Is Purina ONE Natural Blends Chicken and Oat Meal a good dog food?
I know there are better ones like Solid Gold or Canidae, etc but my dogs do fine on Purina ONE Natural Blends Chicken and Oat Meal and they like it. I like it because it’s cheaper and you can find it at Target or Wal-Mart. So is this okay to feed them? They like the taste of it better than Solid Gold or Natural Balance…

It looks like its OK and if you are limited to only a grocery store or petsmart id say go for it but there are MUCH better products out there but it is definitely one of the better commercial brand foods

solid gold and natural balance are much better and they like purina better because of the junk in it if you put it out thye would eat it dogs arent stupid they dont starve themselves

Question by Melissa Gaian: I have a little chihuahua that needs to gain about 2 lbs. What is a good dog food?
I just adopted a little 3 year old chihuahua who is 7 lbs. You can see every little bone in his body. The vet recommended that he gain 2 lbs. What is a good dog food to help him. I currently use Natural Balance to feed my other dog, a Jack Russell Terrier. I like it because it is a good natural food so I would like something like that.

Question by prettypanther_a: What are some good lamb and rice dog foods available?
Nutro Natural Choice recently changed their lamb and rice formula, which has my dog not feeling the greatest. Now, I am looking for a new Lamb and Rice food to feed him. I would like to stick with a food comparable in price to Nutro’s Lamb and Rice. All suggestions are welcome.

I currently feed a raw diet but if I had to return to kibble and these were my choices I would feed Blue Buffalo. My dogs previously ate Blue Buffalo and had no issues with it.

However, I will admit to not doing much kibble research lately.

Hey, well it really depends on what kind of dog u have…my dog only likes eukanuba and my other dog only likes ol’ roy
I suggest Iams and eukanuba!
but thats a good kind of food too!

Question by Antonio: Is Iams healthy naturals dog food good for my 8 month kuvasz mix?
I bought him that brand yesterday because he wasnt eating his other food.

We only use IAMS brand dog-food. Our Yorkie has a tender digestive system and we have to feed him the rice and lamb IAMS. It sure keeps him healthy. I wouldn’t recommend any other dog-food. I think IAMS makes a quality product.

Since im feeding my dog all natural dog food like Wellness… would it ok to give them treats made by purnia or other advertised pet treats?

It’s your dog, you can feed crap treats if you want to. But you’d probably change your mind if you actually read the list of ingredients. The majority of crappy treats have a lot of sugar in them, not to mention corn, wheat and other ingredients that are really bad for dogs. Why not try a good quality treat – Zuke’s treats are tiny, chewy (ideal for training rewards) and are top quality. There’s hundreds of others, all made by the companies that also make good dog food.

I don’t know from personal experience with the brand but I found this link that compares several dog food brands they give Natural Planet Organics 4/5. Ive always heard you should not change your dogs food once he gets used to it but that could just be a myth. Im sure changing to that brand would not hurt but you don’t want to change to a different brand each time your done with the last bag. Hope that helps a little.

I always heard that iams,kibbles,purina,ekubma, and etc is garbage for your dog. I want my dog to live a long healthy life. I have a dalmatian and I know the are known to have kidney problems later on. I want to prevent this. Would feeding my dog all natural food like Wellness be good for his health?

Wellness is good. Iams and all that you listed are crap. They are full of fillers and by-products that are not good for your dog and have no nutritional value.

I prefer grain free foods. I feed taste of the wild.
